OPT OUT

In order to ensure an enjoyable time for everyone in the game, we want to provide this opt-out for our players. Due to the way that we have events planned (sign-ups, forcibly grouped CR, etc.), we want to make sure that we don't put anyone in a situation - even unintentionally - that might hinder their enjoyment of the plot. While these events are framed this way to facilitate branching out and making new CR you might not otherwise, there is also the possibility of being on a team or paired with someone you might have reason to not want to be.

This is a no questions asked opt out for anyone who feels it is necessary. You can put whoever you wish not to play with and any/all of their characters. We won't ask why or for any elaboration but simply make a note of it for future events. All comments on this post are screened to ensure anonymity.

However, we don't want people to use this as an excuse for not tagging certain players and their character(s) without communicating with them. As per the rules, we request that you please communicate effectively with your fellow players before using this opt out post.

Finally, we would like to note that this may not always be possible to accommodate. While we will, of course, do our best to avoid pairing you with someone you've listed here, there are likely to be some exceptions. For example, some events/sign-ups might only have a limited number of slots. In that case, we won't be able to break it up further as there is likely a reason for why we've structured it that way. And in that case, we will likely suggest a different group or remove you rather than the person you listed here.

CLARIFICATIONS

These are some extra notes on opt-outs, when to use them, and what they cover in the case of any confusion about whether or not you should utilize this post.

If you find yourself in a housing situation with a player that you wish to opt-out with personal comfort please notify us.
The purpose of the opt-out post is to prevent any situation in which two characters being put together for RNG purposes would be uncomfortable. If for some reason you have a player plot going that would mean a temporary situation in which character x and character y cannot be randomly thrown together until a resolution is met, you may choose to opt out with that character for the time being.
You do not have to notify the other player that you are opting out of interactions with them. It does help if we're informed whether or not the other player is aware, but no player is obligated to tell another player of their discomfort with said player directly.
Lastly, please make sure you update any opt-outs here by editing your comment as needed.
