Rules
1. BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER.
Please, be courteous and respectful to your fellow players and moderators. We're all here to have a fun time! Harassment and bullying will not be tolerated in the game. Toxic behavior includes specific conduct such as: harassing other people, disrespecting or ignoring their boundaries, and so forth. This also extends to mods; communication to get clarification on a matter is acceptable, but continuing to press for a response when mods request time to discuss and come to a decision on a request or concern is not. Please accept a mod answer as it's given and do not attempt to go to another mod for a different ruling. The mods communicate with each other and repeated cases of this behavior will result in a warning or potential strike.
2. COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY.
In order to make sure you enjoy yourself in the game, you must be willing to speak to other players on an OOC level. From asking questions about a particular setting or character to making sure that certain assumptions (such as fourthwalling, CRAU game CR, etc) are alright, it's important to communicate! However, if communicating with any specific player(s) makes you uncomfortable and/or you feel it requires mod intervention immediately, please let the mods know and it will be addressed.
3. HMDs ARE MANDATORY.
While we will not have an in-game mandatory HMD, we do ask that all our players have one available in their journal upon applying. If one is not provided upon applying, it will be requested before acceptance. This is so that players may first communicate or provide critcisim personally before coming to the mods with any possible issues.
4. DON'T INFO-MOD, POWER-MOD, OR GOD-MOD OTHER PLAYERS/CHARACTERS.
We ask that you please refrain from assuming or controlling another character's actions without explicit permission from that character's player. In addition to that, please be aware that what you know of other characters and the game's metaplot as a whole may not be known to your character, please play them according to what they do or do not know.
5. IC ACTIONS HAVE IC CONSEQUENCES.
Keep in mind that IC ≠ OOC and character thoughts and opinions do not necessarily reflect the player's own ideas. However, if you play a villain don't be surprised that you might gain mostly negative/antagonistic CR. Or if your character lashes out at an NPC, the Zenith Corporation, etc. there will be consequences for their actions.
6. RATE/MARK YOUR CONTENT ACCORDINGLY
Please use your best discretion on ratings and content warnings in the communities. While we're aware that the nature of this game will lend itself to darker themes and exploration of heavier kinks, please make sure you tag and warn for everything accordingly! Triggering content, taboo topics, such as non-con, incest, etc. and logs containing smut with characters under the age of eighteen (18) should be clearly labeled. Sexually explicit material involving characters under the age of sixteen (16) is not permissible in the communities. Characters described as looking younger is fine but, in that case, we reiterate that you need to please tag/warn for your content accordingly.
7. UNDERSTAND THE AGE LIMITS.
This goes for both IC and OOC. No player may be under the age of eighteen (18). If you are found to be lying about your age, you will be expelled from the game immediately. Additionally, please keep in mind that again characters must be sixteen (16) or older in this game. Characters under sixteen (16) and pregnant characters cannot be found in Zhautas, as they would not be asked to volunteer.
8.RESPECT PERMISSIONS/OPT-OUT POSTS.
Permissions and opt-out posts are useful and we encourage players to utilize them for ease of play with others! If you're unsure about playing out a specific scene or setting, it's always wise to check the other player's permissions posts (if they have one). Please be respectful of other player's listed preferences, even if you personally disagree with them.
9. UNDERSTAND CHARACTER LIMITS.
As of right now, the character limit is two (2) to start with. After players prove they have made AC with both characters for two consecutive months, then they may apply for another character. The moderators will check that the AC requirements have been met when processing the application! They can only apply for one (1) more character at a time and show proof of making AC with all three before requesting a fourth and final character. The maximum is four (4) characters to one player.
10. BE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT.
While we understand that life gets busy or sometimes writing drive wanes, please do your best to be an active and engaged member of the communities!
For our AC, we will require two types. There will be general AC and smut AC. We understand that all smut all the time might burn people out! Therefore, they will be on a rotating schedule of general, smut, general, smut and so on.
The first month is a check-in that requires only a comment by you notifying us that it is your first month of AC by providing a link to your Player Contact and Taken List comments. The rest of what activity check entails is outlined below.
The general requirement is two proofs combined totalling twenty (20) comments from any of the game communities, across no more than four threads:
Failure to meet these requirements will result in a warning or a strike. If you fail to complete AC then you will be swept from the game. If you can't make AC and can't hiatus due to extenuating circumstances, please get in touch with one of the mods!

- FREEBIE: This proof may include either smut or gen comments and has no minimum comment requirement

11. THIS IS A SMUT GAME.
While it should be fairly obvious by now, please be aware this is a game with an emphasis on 18+ themes and writing. It will require smut for every other activity check! Characters cannot abstain from sex for an extended period of time. Additionally, fade to black will not be accepted for AC. Please be aware of this should you join the game!
12. INCLUDE SPOILER WARNINGS.
Please mark your spoilers, the newer the canon the more thoroughly spoilers should be warned for. Warn for spoilers in advance, before the text or link is posted.
We request that players wait one (1) month from the release of canons before applying them to Zhautas. A canon must be out for a full month when applications close on the 7th. All spoilers within the application and on the TDM prior to a month must be warned for heavily!
Failure to warn for spoilers within this timeframe will be declined until the following application cycle, when the canon in question is no longer less than a month old.

13. MAKE USE OF THE OOC COMMUNITY.
Please use the OOC community for any public plotting. Private plotting on plurk and other media is fine if you're running something small for close CR, however we encourage players not to limit themselves to friend-locked venues in order to facilitate activity with new CR and keep player circles from running too insular.
